My name is Rachel Binstock and I run Young Adult programming at Urban Adamah including Alternative Spring Break Trips and our 3 month residential farming and spirituality Fellowship. I moved to Berkeley in 2015 to work with youth and families at Urban Adamah and began directing the Fellowship in March of 2018. Prior to working at Urban Adamah, I was a Jewish nature-connection educator at Eden Village Camp on the East Coast where I served as assistant farm director and lead educator. Before my career as a Jewish farmer, I worked as a community organizer in my hometown of Chicago. The guiding principle in my work and beyond is to build the world I believe in. I call myself an artist, community builder, and song-keeper. My spare time is spent practicing primitive skills, finding my way to wild places, and playing the banjo.
