Greetings! My name is Becca (she/her). I grew up on Peoria / Potawatomi / Miami / Oceti Sakowin lands near Chicago, spending my time playing in the dirt, loving thunderstorms, and befriending local pine and locust trees. I have spent the past seven years growing as a mentor and educator in (mostly Jewish) outdoor education programs from Wisconsin to New England to California, for all ages from kindergarteners – elders. I’m excited to bring my love and knowledge of earth-based Judaism, nature connection, herbal medicine, and social justice to my role as the Young Adult Programs Director.
I’m deeply passionate about building joyous, diasporic, healing Jewish community as a crucial stepping stone on the path towards liberation. My favorite sounds are as follows: the many voices of a flowing river, the crackle of a fire, birdsong at dawn, tight harmonies, and the silence that comes after a particularly good question.
