Rosh Chodesh Circle: Body & Movement Workers

Thursday, March 7, 2019
4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Urban Adamah and At The Well are excited to invite you to a brand-new monthly series: Rosh Chodesh on the Farm!

Rosh Chodesh is the first day of every new lunar month in the Jewish calendar. For thousands of years, Jewish women have gathered during the new moon to connect, support, witness, learn, and celebrate living the rhythms of their lives alongside the moon’s renewal and the Hebrew calendar.

At The Well is a women’s health and wellness organization rooted in Jewish wisdom, on a mission to unify practices of health and holiness by empowering women’s circles (aka Well Circles) to gather each new moon (aka Rosh Chodesh!).

In this special partnership, we’ll breathe new life into this ancient ritual by inviting people to gather around certain themes that connect us to body, mind, spirit, and earth.

Each month will be dedicated to forming different groups of individuals based around shared identities and/or professions: herbalists and farmers, birth workers, visual artists, movement workers, and one cohort that will specifically explore what it means to be an intergenerational community.

These cohorts will meet twice in 2019 at Urban Adamah and will be encouraged to continue meeting as a group beyond the program.

These gatherings are open to all who feel called to be there and we are partnering with local leaders in these realms to share their wisdom and create a network of individuals who identify with and are interested in this work.

We invite all menstruators, women, femmes, and female-identifying people of all ages and abilities to join in this special ritual of warmth, love, and empowerment.

The Cohort Schedule:
January 8th (2nd of Shevat): Herbalists and Farmers
February 5th (30th of Shevat): Intergenerational
March 7th (30th of Adar 1): Body and Movement Workers
April 7th (2nd of Nissan): Birthworkers and Jewish Birth practices
May 7th (2nd of Iyar):  Artists and Creative Expression

Tickets are $10 online and $15 at the door. Online registration will close one hour before the program starts. No one turned away for lack of funds.
