Be Gay, Do Shabbat.
Within the pandemic, one of the spaces we’ve been missing is queer community and the opportunity to explore the intersections of our identities. In June, Eli and Ren created a Queer Shabbat Supplement for OneTable Shabbat, and through this event, we will bring this to life. We hope to create a safer and subversive space to be LGBTQ+ and Jewish with pride! Come as you are and who you’re becoming.
This event is for people who currently identify as queer, people who are questioning their gender/sexuality, and allies, though we will prioritize the needs of our queer participants. We welcome you to join us in creating a Shabbat of playfulness and joy while honouring the many expressions of queerness in the Jewish community.
No preparation is required for this event, though you are welcome to read the guide and bring whichever ceremonial items you feel most called towards.
