Join Urban Adamah and Torah of Awakening as we journey together into the new year. Our Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services include chanting, meditation, dancing, and more! Led by Reb Brian Yosef Schachter-Brooks, guest teachers, and the sacred music ensemble BRIAH.

  • Bring your lunch and picnic with us following the service! Wine*, challah, grape juice, apples, and honey provided.
  • Tashlich is at 2:30 pm. Meet at the corner of 6th Street and Codornices Path just steps away from Urban Adamah.

Kol Nidrei (Yom Kippur Evening): October 8th | 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm | Tickets Here

  • On Kol Nidrei, Estelle Frankel will be sharing teachings. We’ll hear a Moroccan version of Kol Nidrei from Renee Benmeleh, along with Ashkenazic melodies from Jeannette Ferber and Kohenet Yael. We will also be joined by Shaykh Issa Baba, sharing his soul-stirring sacred singing.

  • Afternoon Workshops | 2:30 pm – 3:45pm
    • Songs For Our Ancestors: A Pre-Yizkor Musical Journey with Kohenet Yael
      • Join Kohenet Yael as we explore the power of song and chant to connect with and elevate our beloved dead. We’ll learn about ancestral reverence practices in Jewish traditions and sing together as a way to anchor ancestral blessings.
    • How Kabbalah Reimagines God with Professor Daniel Matt
      • This workshop will explore the evolution of the idea of the Divine in Kabbalah and Hassidism through a variety of texts.
    • Yoga for Yom Kippur with Julie Emden of Embodied Jewish Learning
      • The High Holy Days are a time of renewed commitment to living in physical and spiritual alignment with our deepest intentions. In this experiential session we will take the time to breathe, move, rest, integrate, and deepen into our bodily awareness the prayerful experience of Yom Kippur. Our time will be spent in an active yoga and movement practice infused with the theme of alignment and flow, closing with a few restorative postures.  Please wear comfortable loosely layered clothing in which you can easily move. Yoga mats and blankets will be provided.
  • Yizkor | 4:30 pm – 5:45 pm 
  • Ne’ilah | 6:15 pm – 7:45 pm 
  • Community Potluck Break-Fast | 7:45 pm
  • Rabbi Diane will offer guided meditation and readings on Yom Kippur Day. In the afternoon, you can choose between yoga with Julie Emden, learning with Danny Matt, or Kohenet Yael will offer an ancestral exploration with discussion and chanting, leading into Yizkor with Estelle.

All wine served at High Holidays will be from Covenant Wines and Norman Hersch of Cost/Less Inventory Services. 


Fundraising Presale Tickets: On Sale July 1 – July 20

  • Fundraising presale tickets are on a sliding scale $80 – $360 for each service or $400 – $1,800 for the full High Holidays Package (5 Services).
  • Our fundraising presale campaign ensures that our costs are covered and supports our ability to offer tickets on a sliding scale. The standard rate ticket of $136 reflects the actual cost of running each service. We encourage those who are able to buy tickets during the presale.
  • The first 40 registrants for each service will be guaranteed seating in the Main Tent (additional covered seating will be available).

Regular Tickets: On Sale July 20 Until Sold Out

  • After the pre-sale, regular tickets will be available for the High Holidays 5780 package (all five services) or each of the five services separately. Tickets will be on a sliding scale of $54 – $360 for each service.
  • Our services will sell out, so please buy your tickets early. Covered seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis. We encourage you to arrive early. If these ticket prices are inaccessible, please email rebecca@urbanadamah.org to request a scholarship.

A Note on our Pricing Policy

  • You must purchase a ticket in order to reserve a seat.
  • Each ticket will admit 1 person to each service.
  • The sliding scale enables us to offer more accessible prices.
  • Tickets for children 2-12 are $18.
  • All tickets are tax deductible.

Children at Services

  • We welcome children to attend services with their parents or guardians. While we will not be providing childcare, the yurt will be available as a quiet space with some crafts and activities and we welcome children to explore the farm, as long as they are supervised by an adult or parent-designated babysitter. Babysitters do not need to buy a ticket. Parents are responsible for their children.
  • The Rosh Hashanah Evening service will include a Special Children’s Service with Jen Miriam – Music, Puppets, and Deep Torah from Miriam’s Well! from 6:30 – 7:30 pm in the yurt. Additionally, we will be hosting a campfire for children of all ages after the puppet show. A parent or babysitter must be present to supervise them.

Accessibility

  • All services will be wheelchair accessible. Those who require it are welcome to bring their own chairs. If you have further questions about accessibility at Urban Adamah please visit our accessibility page for more information.
  • Parking: Urban Adamah has a small parking lot. Spaces will be reserved for seniors and those with Disability Placards or license plates. All other guests should park on the street in the 1-3 block radius around the farm and allow time to find parking. Please do not leave anything visible in your cars as people have experienced break-ins. This event is fragrance-free. Please learn more here.
