Shana Wallace

Community Organizer
Summer 2015

Shana Wallace is currently serving with FoodCorps, a nationwide team of leaders who connect kids to real food and help them grow up healthy. Through her work with the St. Mary’s Nutrition Center – a youth empowerment and health organization in Lewiston, Maine – she teaches food and nutrition education, runs cafeteria taste tests, works in gardens, and coordinates food pantries in local public schools. She also serves on the Board of Directors for The Center for Wisdom’s Women, a drop-in center for women, many of whom are survivors of trauma, abuse, or trafficking.

“For me, there is a clear ‘before’ and ‘after’ the fellowship….”
“I have always felt a calling to act and live within the justice world, but the Fellowship provided me with the precious opportunity to play and work until I found my best self. The world as a whole is a brighter place to me now, even in the darkest times – it’s comforting and inspiring to know that I have this community wherever I go, in the tools I was offered and the folks I met. I am endlessly grateful!”
